Cotton voile and rayon
In this piece I challenge our society’s preconceived notions and taught reactions to the physical results of love. What interests me is the time it takes the viewer to study each word and its ‘meaning’ in the physical context I present. I want to elicit in the viewer a process of discovery from the comprehension of each word separately, then together to the moment of recognition and then repulsion. I want them to experience the dilemma between irrevocable understanding and rejection, because it represents the struggle of our natural instinct versus our learned morality.
